Manchild, the first single from Sabrina Carpenter’s new album Man’s Best Friend, was produced by Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen. It features a clear and delicate sound that evokes a perfect and refined atmosphere, built with a subtle country touch and an ’80s-inspired style.

The album was announced last week and seems to follow the same aesthetic as the single.

Jack Antanoff is known for being the producer of Taylor Swift. The production is a clear example of a perfect pop song. Jack and Sabrina both reign in this genre. It has banjo arrangements, and retro drum fills. The synths are a great example of the 80’s style that has been incorporated in this great and amazing production.

Nevertheless, the announcement of the artist’s new album has caused some controversy given the fact that the cover of the album demonstrates Sabrina in a “misogynist” and “degrading” reminiscent of the sexist ads of 1960. Her style has been based on the 60’s decade. It is known as her new brand and way to connect her new music with her image.

The audience might see Sabrina’s vintage style and the way she presents herself as an integral part of her new identity. There could be several reasons why people think and consider this new album a regression in Sabrina’s career, but many others support her new style, vibe and the concept she is using. Manchild is a clear example of the new age of Sabrina’s career. She might be combining and using new elements that link the concept she wants to spread with references and old trends.
