D4vd, stage name of Anthony Burke, is now in the spotlight and at the center of all the accusations circulating on social media regarding the murder of Celeste Hernandez Rivas.
The case began when the Los Angeles police were called after residents reported a strange smell coming from a Tesla. Inside, officers found a decomposed body wrapped in plastic. The car was registered to D4vd and had been abandoned for over a month, without anyone reporting it stolen. The victim was confirmed to be Celeste Rivas, who went missing at the age of 13. According to reports, D4vd and Celeste knew each other and spent time together; photos and videos of them circulating online show them together, and they even had matching hand tattoos that say “SHH.”
Speculation has also exploded online regarding the lyrics of D4vd’s songs. In the track Romantic Homicide, the artist sings:
In the back of my mind, I killed you and I didn't even regret it, I can't believe I said it, but it's true.
In light of the discovery of the body, these words take on a chilling meaning. Many have noticed that in several of his music videos, the actresses strongly resemble Celeste: same haircut and same large eyes as the victim.
Furthermore, a song titled Celeste has leaked, which includes:
I hear her voice each time I take a breath. I'm obsessed. Oh, Celeste. Afraid... Missing you so much makes me depressed.
Circumstantial evidence further fuels the suspicions: images on social media, testimonies from friends and family who saw them together, and the fact that Celeste was underage at the time of the relationship.
Despite all this, D4vd is not among the official suspects: detectives say “physical evidence is lacking,” while online communities continue to search for clues in his song lyrics. What emerges is the face of an artist whose true self is no longer knowable.
It’s heartbreaking to think that music could become the context of a potential crime. The world demands justice for Celeste: that the truth about what happened is revealed and that the perpetrator is punished, so that no other life is taken in such a brutal way.
