Ajuliacosta is a Brazilian rapper who's killing it: confident, genuine, original and talented. Her career started in battle rap in Mogi das Cruzes. She wrote her first rhymes at 12 and joined the group Mistura de Fatos at 14.
Her first album Brutas amam, choram e sentem raiva contributed significantly, along with the EP Aju, to her consolidation in the mainstream Brazilian hip hop scene. Winning the 2025 BET Awards for Best New International Act added an international touch and strengthened her role as a reference for representation and diversity in the Brazilian music industry.
And it's exactly in 2025 that her second album Novo Testamento was released: published in September, it features 11 tracks that intersect ‘80s boombap with more contemporary beats. The record talks about freedom, female empowerment and determination. It rejects machismo, criticizes the predictability of today’s music industry and conveys girl power. It also features several guests: KL Jay, Mu540, Alt Niss, Maffalda and Greezy.
Her vision is summarized in the single O Que A Júlia Vai Ser:
O que a Júlia quer? O que a Júlia vai ser? Muda a vida, muda tudo, mas não muda a minha sede O que a Júlia quer? O que a Júlia vai ser? Muda a vida, muda tudo Mas não muda a minha sede
Her journey shows courage, determination and talent, qualities that can make a difference in any field. You can listen to her here:
