Sélpide presents “OOC,” a conceptual reggaeton about assumptions and fictional women

The multidisciplinary artist releases the second volume of her ambitious project MoMA (Museum of Misplaced Art), featuring a surrealist music video inspired by fictional women.

Singer-songwriter, screenwriter, and producer sélpide takes a new step in her career with the release of MoMA EX. 02, the second installment of her innovative musical project Museum of Misplaced Art. The release is led by OOC, a melodic and conceptual reggaeton in which fictional women—tired of being poorly written—rebel against their scriptwriters.

The song explores the connection between female representation in fiction and real life, denouncing the male gaze that has historically limited women's possibilities both on and off the screen. The accompanying music video, directed and produced by the artist herself, offers a visually symbolic experience with Lynchian and surrealist overtones, revisiting archetypes such as “the trophy wife” or “the macho man.”

The release also includes a B-side titled girlsgirlsgirls, a delicate synth pop track that celebrates love between women through pop culture references like Marceline and Princess Bubblegum (Adventure Time) or Casey and Izzie (Atypical). Inspired by her own experiences as a lesbian, sélpide pays tribute to the sapphic characters who helped her understand and embrace her identity.

MoMA EX. 02 marks the second chapter in a 13-track sonic journey exploring identity through a wide range of genres and both fictional and real-life references. Following the video premiere, the characters from the OOC universe will be further introduced through a photo editorial, expanding the imagery of the Museum of Misplaced Art even further.
