Wolf Alice have unveiled their lead single Bloom Baby Bloom ahead of the release of their fourth studio album coming out on August 29, The Clearing.

Bloom Baby Bloom: a taste of The Clearing, Wet Leg's new album

Marking a striking evolution in the band's sound, the track departs from the youthful sentimentality of their debut My Love is Cool, signaling a band confidently coming into their own. It’s mature, self-assured, and unapologetically authentic.

The song opens light and playful before Ellie Roswell’s vocals begin to stretch across emotional extremes. In the chorus, she showcases her impressive vocal range—bursting with rage and defiance aimed at anyone who dares challenge the band’s authenticity:

Look at me trying to play it hard
I’m so sick and tired of playing it hard

Roswell echoes the unapologetic energy of Amy Taylor from Amyl and the Sniffers—unafraid to take up space, channeling frustration into an explosive, passionate performance.

With Bloom Baby Bloom, Wolf Alice continue their trademark ability to weave emotion into sound. The metaphor of a flower in bloom captures both personal and artistic growth, a declaration to listeners—and perhaps to themselves—that they are stepping fully into their most genuine form.
